I know Ae sometimes is pronounced E but not always; AE VS Æ are different sounds. Hence why AE in Aero sounds like Arrow, whereas AE in Aerie sounds like Erie. It's very much up in the air what AE will sound like. ENGLISH IS HARD! Anyways I pronounce Aeon's name as Aon so you should too.
